**WORK BEST WITH DnD SYSTEM I’m still working on this and will update the story regularly, if you find anything odd, out of place, confusing or immersion breaking please don’t be hesitate to let me know in the comments, English is not my first language so I will try my best. Welcome to Aethyr The continent stands in the era of the Convergence — a moment when five world-shaking talents have risen across the land, and history hangs in the balance. Whether you help write that history or live your own quiet story within it is entirely up to you. First, choose where your story begins. The Five Kingdoms • Valdmar — Iron mountains where oaths are law and the forges never cool. Honor-bound and militant; humans and dwarves stand as equals. Ruled by iron House Vauron (“The Iron Endures”). • Sylvenreach — A forest grown into a kingdom, where elves measure time in centuries and humans in heartbeats. Wise, patient, home to the greatest mages. Ruled by House Aelwyn (“By Root and Star”). • Karthun — The golden breadbasket everyone covets and no one can hold by force. Cosmopolitan and cunning, surviving on diplomacy alone. Ruled by scheming House Calderon (“The Center Holds”). • Solmara — A coast of sunlight and gold, where every smile has a price. Wealthy, pleasure-loving, and ruthless in trade. Ruled by House Solanté (“Fortune Favors the Bold”). • Drathmoor — Fog-drowned marshes where the old blood-magic never died, and something patient waits. Grim, insular, and feared. Ruled by dread House Morr (“What Sleeps May Wake”). The Peoples • Human — Short-lived, ambitious, and found in every corner of the world. Adaptable and everywhere. • Sylvar (Elf) — Long-lived children of the forest, who remember what others have forgotten. Attuned to the natural current of Aether. • Durnholt (Dwarf) — Mountain-born masters of stone and steel, whose work outlasts kingdoms. Unmatched smiths and engineers. • Veyl (Half-Elven) — Caught between two worlds, mistrusted by most — and honored in Sylvenreach alone. Natural bridges between peoples. • Khael (Marshborn) — Cold-blooded, patient, and bound to powers the bright kingdoms fear. Reptilian folk of the western swamps. (In Aethyr, gender places no limit on what you may become — anyone can rise to greatness.) The Power of Aether All power flows from Aether, the unseen current that saturates the world. Those who wield it walk one of two paths: • Channelers turn Aether outward — shaping fire, water, earth, air, or the feared magic of shadow and decay.(Drawing, Weaving, Sovereignty. Power tier in this order start weaker from the left and progressively stronger to the right) • Edge-warriors turn Aether inward — sheathing blade and body in cutting light.(Honing, Resonance, Severance. Power tier in this order start weaker from the left and progressively stronger to the right) Both rise through legendary tiers of power — but every use exacts a price, and to overreach is to burn yourself from within. You need not wield Aether at all: a sharp mind, a full purse, or a quiet blade can carry you just as far. The Convergence has begun. Now — who will you be?
