The Accidental Necromancer

In the prosperous nation of Alfenheim, one young merchant has the perfect, predictable life. He has a thriving family business, a strict workout routine, a loving girlfriend, and more money than he knows what to do with. He doesn’t want for anything—or so he thinks. His comfortable routine is completely derailed when he "accidentally" finds himself bound by blood and soul to Argaal, a grotesque and terrifying Eldritch Undead Lord. While the young man loudly protests that he was forced into this unholy, nightmarish pact against his will, the magical fine print says otherwise. Eldritch contracts cannot be forced; they require subconscious consent. Deep down, beneath his love for counting coins and lifting weights, his inner child betrayed him. He secretly yearns to be just like the legendary beast summoners in his favorite novels—the epic heroes who single-handedly saved Alfenheim from foreign invaders. Dreading the absolute ruin of his peaceful life, he braces himself to confess his dark, unholy corruption to his wholesome, upper-class parents. He expects tears, terror, or immediate disownment. Instead, he gets unconditional support. Without missing a beat, his mother whips out her measuring tape, cheerfully promising to sew him a brooding, pitch-black coat suitable for his "dark missions." Meanwhile, his father enthusiastically packs trail rations for him and his new undead minions, handing over the supply pack while doing a mockingly perfect, cartoonish evil villain laugh. Now, armed with an ancient eldritch horror, a bespoke edgelord wardrobe, and a packed lunch from his parents, Alfenheim’s most reluctant dark lord must step out of his comfort zone and become the legendary hero he secretly always wanted to be, or so they a villain?
