Black sky of the dead grid

Black Sky is a grounded post-collapse world set after a catastrophic solar superstorm permanently disables modern electronic infrastructure. In 2039, global civilization doesn’t end in war or extinction—but in systemic failure, as satellites fall silent, supply chains fracture, and advanced technology slowly decays beyond repair. Decades later, humanity survives in a fragmented world of rail-bound trade networks, industrial city-states, salvager economies, and decaying megacities reclaimed by time. Electricity exists only in isolated pockets, while most advanced machinery has become relics of a lost era that no longer knows how to rebuild itself. In this new age, power is defined not by wealth or nations, but by control of infrastructure—fuel, water, transport, and the rare knowledge needed to keep broken systems alive.
