(updated) Long ago, the world drowned. The continents vanished beneath rising oceans, and humanity was forced to survive on the only stable ground left—colossal sea monsters whose massive backs never sink below the waves. Entire cities now cling to these wandering giants, building Tether-Towns hooked into scales, shells, and forests that grow on their hides. As the creatures migrate across the endless ocean, the cities move with them, turning the world into a network of drifting civilizations. Society has fallen into a harsh neo-feudal age where powerful warlords rule monster-cities and control the last fragments of Old World technology. Some factions treat the great beasts as sacred and protect them, while others mine their flesh, oil, and scales for survival, risking the monster’s death and the destruction of the city living on it. Pirates hunt trade routes between the wandering cities, scavengers dive into drowned skyscrapers for lost relics, and entire cultures survive by harvesting parasites and living ecosystems that grow on their hosts. Most of the ocean remains unexplored. Beneath the waves lie ancient ruins, strange deep-sea predators, and mysteries older than the flood itself. If a host monster becomes sick or dies, the city on its back begins a slow descent into the abyss, forcing its people to flee before the crushing depths claim everything. In a world where the land is alive and always moving, survival depends on the monsters beneath your feet—and the secrets hidden in the endless sea. (Still in testing may change)
