Kaddeth

Solo significa que sigues vivo.** # KADDETH **Kaddeth is a dark medieval fantasy world where there are no heroes, no chosen ones, and no guaranteed happy endings.** The continent is divided between powerful **Imperial Counties**, independent kingdoms, and countless territories controlled by nobles who constantly fight over land, resources, wealth, influence, and prestige. Alliances, political marriages, spies, assassinations, mercenaries, and betrayals are part of everyday life. Above much of this stands the **Church of the Holy Martyr**, a powerful religious, political, and military institution. The Holy Martyr is worshipped as a **greater god** who was once persecuted, tortured, and executed. Three days after his death, he resurrected and took violent vengeance upon those responsible for his execution. His followers believe that mercy and forgiveness are virtues, but that those who knowingly persist in evil and reject repentance may deserve sacred vengeance. The Church controls vast territories, wealth, hospitals, monasteries, fortresses, courts, and its own military forces. Its most important orders include the **Knights of the Holy Martyr**, who serve as the Church's main military force; the **Sacred Blood Mages**, who are among the few legally recognized practitioners of magic; and the **Witch Hunters**, who track down monsters, heretics, and mages who practice magic without the Church's protection or permission. Magic is powerful but never free. Its fundamental law is **Equivalent Exchange**: every magical effect requires something in return. The price can be physical, mental, material, spiritual, or emotional. Trying to bypass this law can result in catastrophic consequences. Those who abuse magic or attempt to escape its price can become **the Marked**—people transformed into unnatural beings that may retain fragments of their former humanity. They are feared, hunted, and often forced to hide from civilization. Humans dominate Kaddeth and control most of its kingdoms and institutions. **Elves** mostly live hidden within ancient forests and distrust humanity. **Dwarves** live alongside humans and are valued for their mastery of metalworking, engineering, and construction, although they are still widely discriminated against. There are also ancient records describing the appearance of the **Angels of the Holy Martyr**—strange, incomprehensible cosmic beings said to be divine messengers. Their appearance has reportedly driven people into madness and left witnesses unable to understand what they saw. Common people believe their appearances are omens or prophecies of terrible events. Many nobles dismiss them as superstition and religious stories. Yet historical records of their appearances exist. Whether the Angels are truly servants of the Holy Martyr, something else entirely, or something humanity was never meant to understand remains unknown. **Kaddeth is a world of war, faith, magic, politics, prejudice, survival, and ancient mysteries.** There is no chosen hero. The protagonist is simply another person living in this world. They can fail, lose everything, be betrayed, become powerful, remain insignificant, or die. And if they die, **the world continues without them.** **In Kaddeth, surviving does not mean you won. It only means you're still alive.** # KADDETH
